Investors Special – 1966 Mod

Written By: - Apr• 19•14

Here’s a place I visited last week. I would call this home a diamond in the rough.

Some people might refer to it as a “sh*t hole.”

Built in 1966, it has kind of a retro mod artsy feel. I kind of love this place. The fixtures are awesome ….can I keep them?? I can’t wait to see this place after some loving.

Here’s some pictures of the place. The home is nestled in Palos Verdes Estates which …. for people not from the area …. is covered with peacocks!! Yes seriously. They are cruising around the streets and squeaking their heads off. I took these pictures early in the morning, who needs roosters when you have peacocks. I might be making peacock noises as I type this … Chris is pretty awesome at it!

That’s what I’m talking about!

Open Houses: The good, the bad and the FANTASTIC!!

Nestled among mature trees and unobstructed parkland, this outstanding equestrian property sits on over 26,000 sq ft of land in Rolling Hills Estates, one of the most desirable areas on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

As a Real Estate Agent, part of my job is to preview at least 10 homes per week.  It’s one of my favorite things to do!!

Everyone loves checking out new bathroom ideas, looking at new trends, and looking for new designs to try.  Along with the new fancy ideas, who doesn’t appreciate a 1970′s baby blue bidet.

This blog is going to showcase at least one property a week.  I will pick my very favorite aspect: kitchen, bath, living in room, view, yard, pool … you name it and show case it for my readers.

I visit some amazing properties, but I also see some real dumps.  I wish you could scratch and sniff some photos!!

Please comment away on the properties …. remember its the good, the bad and the FANTASTIC!!

The first property I am show casing is my good friend’s listing.  This is an awesome horse property up in Rolling Hills Estates.  While it could use some updating, the pool and the stable atmosphere is so peaceful and inviting!!

Can’t you just imaging yourself laying by the pool, sipping a mimosa and taking it all in … ahhh :)

I think you’ll will agree … The Pool is FANTASTIC!!

Door Knocking

Written By: - Jan• 07•14

Door Knocking is a popular lead generation tool in the real estate world.  It is exactly what you think it is, knocking on doors, talking to people and looking for business.

I’ve been listening to a lot of top agents talk about how they got their business to where it is … surprise!  Door Knocking transformed their business and made them go from buyers agent to booming real estate business professional.

Today was Day 1 of Door Knocking campaign.  I will be door knocking 3 times a week this year and hit 30 homes each time I go out.  I created a little flyer with the homes available in the area some fun facts:

  • 43 homes sold in the Belmont Heights/Belmont Shore area last month (Dec 13)
  • The average listing is listed at $575,000, but the average sale price is $675,000 (This includes condos and single family homes)
  • The average listing in Belmont is on the market for 55 days.

In anticipation, I bit off all my nails and was really just so nervous!  I really don’t even know what I’m afraid of.  My goal was to just be nice, introduce myself, hand over my flyer, sticky notes and my card.  I practiced with Chris and used the “I’m not selling anything” approach.  It was a success.  No one slammed a door in my face, or spit at me, or threw a tomato at me haha.  Everyone was surprisingly so nice and there are a lot of people home at noon on a monday.  (Do these people work??  I need to be doing what they are doing)

As I walked and talked to people, I got a little more comfy.  I remember in construction, the first subcontractor I called and how awkward I was!!  It’s like I have a whole new voice.  I’m out of my body, listening to myself like who is this person??  You are funny and outgoing, why do you sound so proper and rigid …. I might have sounded like that on my first couple.  BUT I did get better and, I have so many more people to meet, potential clients to meet!!  Next month when I’m like a veteran, I’m going to look back and laugh at myself haha.

Boom Baby … definitely way out of my comfort zone today and feeling great about it!!

2014 New Years Business Resolutions

Real Estate Amy

Here it is …. live and in the making.  You’ll be following my real estate adventure as I’m living it.

What is a BIG WHY??  A big why is the reason you do what you do.  Its the reason you get out of bed in the morning and go to work at 5AM.  Maybe it’s your kids?  Your fuzzy cat Ronald?  So you can have that sexy beach house or rustic log cabin get away?  Happiness?  Success?

What is your big why??

My BIG WHY is to give back to the community.  When I graduated high school, I had the awesome opportunity to travel to Guatemala and help at a facility that helped people by teaching them and giving them resources to help themselves.  The true “teach a man to fish way….” In the last 10 years, i haven’t taken the time to be involved with an organization like that and really help others less fortunate.  I let myself become so wrapped up in my own life like many of us do and I never had enough “time.”

Boom …  I’m back and I’m making time.  My why for being in real estate is to help other people in a big way and make a difference.  How?  I’m not sure yet, but a year from now I will have an answer to that and I will be inspiring those around me to be involved.

So let’s learn, laugh and make some money so we can make a difference.

What’s your BIG WHY??  I’d love to hear what it is!!
